Primary Music Day

Stirling Council runs an annual Primary Music Day for all instrumentalists who play strings, wind, brass or guitars. This year the day will take place on Sunday 17th March from 10.00 am until 4.00 pm at McLaren High School in Callander. We have changed the venue from previous years in order to allow us to keep the high number of participants without having to limit the number in the audience.

The Primary Music Day aims to help younger musicians enjoy ensemble music making, and to promote the skills required to play in larger groups and is for pupils in p6 and p7, though younger pupils may be accepted if they are the correct standard. There is a minimum standard of approximately grade 1 required.

At the same time, we run a String Training Day, which is for all secondary and primary pupils who play violin, viola, cello and double bass at grade 3 standard and above to develop the skills required to play in an orchestral setting
